I can make color portraits from your own photos that you’ll send me by email. A genuine portrait by an artist you’ll be able to offer. You have the choice between different techniques: watercolor or acrylic painting, red chalk or pastel drawing.
The suggested color portraits are made either in dry pastel or red chalk or in watercolor or acrylic. Pastels come in the form of crayons, powders or colored sticks used dry and applied on a semi-thick moderately structured white or colored paper. The rendering is at the crossroads between drawing and painting. Pastel is well adapted to portraiture because the softness of the rendering fairly evokes the texture of the skin. Pastels offer a wide range of colors. As for red chalk, it is a dry iron oxide, in the form of pencils or sticks of color ranging from beige, orange to brick red. It is generally used without other pigment. The rendering will therefore be monocolor thus giving great originality and beautiful unity to the drawing while leaving the texture of the paper clearly visible. Red chalk is worked like charcoal. After making the drawing in pastel or red chalk, a fixer is applied. Like for any "dry" technique, it is advisable to frame it with a glass (preferably anti-reflective) in order to obtain good conservation. You can also provide a master key to showcase the work (donner de la profondeur et concentrer le regard sur le dessin). The other technique proposed is watercolor which is a water-based paint based on crushed pigments. The watercolor technique renders transparency and light particularly well. Its chromatic range is infinite. It is therefore particularly suited to the art of portraiture. This technique requires a lot of attention and work and therefore time, but the results will amaze you. In addition to the application of a fixer, a frame with a glass (preferably anti-reflective) will be necessary for good conservation over time. I also work with acrylic which is paint based on mineral and organic pigments associated with a binder consisting of water and acrylic resin. This paint is very durable and very bright but does not allow mistake. Elle nécessite plus de temps de réalisation que les pastels.

I have always been inspired by the faces of people. Firstly, in my native Anatolia then in Bosporus and now in Savoie where I live. The people who are part of my life inspire me. Doing portraits is my preferred mode of expression. I draw no doubt to capture the truth of someone on paper and to not forget the person: known or unknown faces, young or old, noone leaves me indifferent.
More realistic and less stylised than the black and white, a coloured portrait accentuates proximity, warmth, gaiety and ease. While black and white children’s portraits can be just as warm, it is also a question of drawing techniques (shading, touches of colour around the eyes or the lips…). For adults, black and white portraits emanate more intensity, more power - they tend to enhance character traits. In the end it is a question of preference. In order to get a better idea, visit the following page and compare. If in doubt, do not hesitate to send me your photos so I can advise accordingly. Colour is a little more complex to implement and requires more time, which is why the prices of the coloured portraits are slightly higher. Ultimately, know that colour photographs can be used as a guide for coloured portraits as well as black and white portraits. Make those you love happy by giving them a portrait at every stage of life, a gift which marks the passage of time!
