Color portraits are based on dry pastels, charcoal, colored pencils, red chalk, watercolor or acrylic.
Black and white portraits are based on charcoal, pastel, black chalk and graphite pencils.
PHOTO CHOICE
Tips for choosing photos : large, sharp, preferably indoor, not over- or underexposed ; no passport or full-length photos. For children, put yourself at their height to take them.
ON WHITE OR COLORED PAPER ?
White paper : very bright, good contrasts. The drawing is enhanced.
Colored paper (grey or other colors to choose from): very soft rendering, well suited to current trends in decoration.
DELIVERY TIME
As an indication, provided I have no other portrait in progress, drawing a portrait takes me 2 to 4 days depending on its size, the technique used and the complexity of the subject (number of faces, busts, clothing, background decors...).
To this must be added the delivery time by Colissimo (at least 2 days, excluding Sundays and public holidays, for France ; 4 to 8 days for international mailing).
You’ll be informed of the time for delivery before the final order.
A3 OR "FORMAT RAISIN" ?
A3 format (29.7 x 42 cm): versatile format, good rendering of details.
Format RAISIN (55 x 65 cm) : fits well in the decoration of a good-sized room (necessary setback distance from the painting) ; allows a particularly
fine rendering of details, requires a clear large photo.D'autres formats sont possibles (me consulter).

FRAMING
Framing is not provided.
Transporting glass is a delicate task and choosing a frame depends on many factors (the painting itself, the decoration of the room where it will hang, the customer’s taste). While you can find frames at good prices on the internet,
I recommend looking in a hardware shop or specialist shops. The best solution is to employ a framer, who will be able to advise you accordingly and offer you multiple options.Personally I enjoy the environment of framing
studios, so I suggest going with the person who has given you the portrait. This is a way of spending time together as well as discovering a profession and its universe et aussi d'éviter des fautes de goût.Here is some information to choose your frame : the material of the profiles used, their shape and dimensions, their material and their color being matters of personal taste, the best piece of
advice that may be given when choosing is to think about the decoration of the room where it will be hung (if you know it). Keep in mind the frame is there to showcase the painting. So avoid frames which are too conspicuous
unless it is an assumed aesthetic choice (This is always risky if the painting is bound to be offered). It is advisable to provide a master key to enhance the work : this bevelled cardboard, a few centimeters wide and
a few millimeters thick, will be placed as a frame between the painting and the glass.
